Speakeasy

ree

So at this point you have to of seen an enticing article about "The Top -insert number here- Speakeasies in -insert city here-". Upon reading the article you think to yourself' wow I need to check out these new "speakeasies", they look great". You arrive to a clearly marked bar above a chain burger joint and think to yourself "what exactly is the difference between a bar and a speakeasy?". Well BU follower's, we hate to break it to you, they don't really exist any more. Unless your Uncle Mike runs an illegal bar out of his basement where you have to use a secret password given to a large bouncer behind a steel door then you haven't been to one. There are a few spaces like Raines Law Room, Please Don't Tell, BackRoom and Mezcaleria that pull off this old school feel well but, lets just call them what they are, Hidden Bars. But instead of ranting more about this we wanted to bring some comedy to this post by posting the Urban Dictionary definitions.. enjoy.
